Who are the Sisters of Life?
The Sisters of Life are a contemplative/active religious community dedicated to protecting and enhancing the sacredness of human life. Their apostolic work involves not only a life of prayer, but of service to pregnant women in need of practical support, as well as hope and healing for those wounded by abortion. The Sisters open their homes to pregnant women, offering an opportunity for emotional, spiritual, and practical support. They also offer retreats, serve in the diocese Family Life office, and engage in the work of evangelisation throughout the world.
Sr. John Mary is from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She studied history at Queen’s University and the University of Western Ontario. She entered the Sisters of Life in 2005 and professed perpetual vows in 2013. Since 2013, Sr. John Mary has been the Superior of the Sisters of Life in Toronto.
